Archaeological Sites in the VEP North Study Area
This map shows all of the archaeological sites in the VEP North study area that have been located and documented—just over 18,000 sites. These sites were compiled into a database and examined to determine which ones were residential sites where ancestral Pueblo families lived—a total of about 7,600 sites. The residential sites were then analyzed to determine when they were occupied and how many people lived in each. The population reconstruction that resulted from this analysis of residential sites is discussed in Chapter 3, Question 7.
